Holidays are so much fun with little girls!! The night before Valentines the girls asked if there was going to be any surprises on Valentines morning. They know me too well. I love holidays. My mom sent them a huge package filled with all kinds of goodies....so I sat them out all cute on the breakfast table. The girls were sooooo excited to wake up and see all the fun things waiting for them. We made Red Velvet pancakes-yum!!
Isabella starting feeling a little poopy, so I told her to go lay down. A few minutes later I hear her yelling, "Mom mom!!!" So my initial thought was, great she's puking!! But she had lost her tooth. We didn't even know her tooth was that loose. This is her 6th tooth she's lost. So then I sent her off to school and I could tell she wasn't feeling super great, I asked her if she wanted to stay home and rest. She knew it was Valentines-and what kid doesn't want to go to school and give out all of their Valentines? So I told her that if she started feeling crappy she could have her teacher call me and I would come get her.
Coincidentally, right after they were done exchanging Valentines, she started feeling crappy and made the teacher call me to pick her up. When I went to get her she looked sooooo sad and terrible. She definitely had the junk that's been going around. Even though she wasn't feeling great, she had enough energy to come home and read through all her Valentines (it's funny how that works, right?)
But my personal opinion is, what better way to spend Valentines than snuggled up in a bed watching movies all day in jammies? Look at poor Isa, her eyes were so miserable! I enjoyed my snuggle day with my cuties!
Chris came home and surprised all 3 of us with roses and chocolates! What a sweet guy! It was Chris's year to be in charge of our Valentines....and I have been dying the last month to play checkers (I know I am a nerd!!) Since our basement has carpet now, he had a romantic set up next to the fire with chocolates, music, rose petals and you guessed it MY CHECKERS game!!! And I LOVED it. I'm not sure if he was being extra nice and let me win....but for the record not only did I win, I DOMINATED the checkers game!!!
Now up to this point Valentines was a successful day!!! UP TO THIS POINT!! Then the next morning came and Isabella came running into our room, "MOM, DAD, I think the tooth fairy forgot to come last night!" Chris looked at me, I looked at him....both of our eyes got really big........CRAP!!!! Thank goodness we had had a discussion the night before with Isa asking her if she thought that the tooth fairy had a date for Valentines. Wow, did that ever come in handy!! The poor girl had tore her room apart looking for what the tooth fairy had let her. Well, we came to the conclusion that not only did the tooth fairy have a date, she must have gotten home late, so she would probably come the following night, and bring double what she would normally bring. And, thank goodness the following night the tooth fairy followed through with that. PHHEEWWW!!

Holidays in general are just better with kids, don't you think?! But, being sick is the worst. Her eyes look so sad. I think I may snuggle in bed and watch movies all day with my girls, just because of that picture!
