Well, Isa is all done with preschool...and we are still hearing about this boy named Devin. Oh my! I had to document this, so in the future she can be totally embarassed by the fact that I shared this story with all of the cyber world.
It started probably back in March. Isabella would come home and seem really worked up about this boy named Devin. She would say that we need to talk to the teachers because he is really mean to her. I actually did talk to the teachers about Devin and they seemed a little surprised that she was so worried about him. The conversations with her about Devin sometimes became so intense, I got a little worried that maybe my little Isa was being bullied by some little punk. So I decided to stay at her preschool one day and watch her through the observation booths they have, so she wouldn't know that I was there. I quickly picked out which child was Devin, not because he was mean....but because he was the first person that Isabella went up to and sweetly said, "Hi Devin!" He was intensly making spaghetti at the time she approached him. She grabbed a napkin and said, "Devin, do you need a napkin?" and sat next to him at the dinner table in the play area. He had no idea that Isabella even existed. I soon realized that Devin was mean because-he had no idea that Isabella was alive.
Soon after I asked Isabella how the situation with Devin was going and she would just grin. The last day of school I reminded Isa that she needed to say good-bye to all her friends because she probably wouldn't be in their class next year. When she got in the car after school was over I asked her if she told Devin good-bye. She said, "no." I explained to her that she would probably never see him again. And, I kid you not her next statement was, "Actually mom, I will see him again!" Uggghhhh...not already, the attitude about the boy that she loves, and mom is saying that I will never see him again!! And come to find out Devin had actually kissed her on the cheek (so she says).
The girls are still watching Tangled more than anything right now, and when Rupenzel kisses whatever his name is, both Isa and Eva go "Ewwwwwwwwww.!" That's what I like to hear, I hope they keep that attitude for another 25 years. But Chris just happened to ask Isa if she said "Ewwww.." when Devin kissed her. She got this grin on her face and said, "Actually dad, it was DELICIOUS."
Oh my....lock the doors now, I am not letting this girl date!
And just another quick story from this weekend (in case you missed it on facebook).
We took the girls to Sonic for some ice-cream and on the way home we hear Isa say, "My ice-cream looks like a nibble." Both Chris and I looked at each other and said "Nibble?" Isa replies with, "you know dad, like when you get cold, your boobs get a nibble?"....we couldn't stop laughing!
