the fun has begun
The fun has officially begun (I think), and I say (I think) because I am sooooo exhausted after this weekend. We have started the building/moving all in one week. It's kind of funny, our new house that we are building, I can look out our master bedroom window and see our lot that our house is going to be built on. So every morning I wake up, open the blinds and look over at the lot and get all giddy....I know, I'm a geek! But this week was so exciting for us. On Tuesday we walked over to our lot (we take a daily walk over to the lot to get really excited!) and this is what it looked like. Nothing, just dirt.
On Wednesday they started staking out the lot. After we got home from our walk on Wednesday we were in our front yard playing with side walk chalk and I saw a semi truck with a backhoe on it drive down the road and I got all giddy hoping that it was going to our lot. Sure enough it was, and so being the nerd that I am I packed the girls up in the car and sped over to make sure it was really going to our lot. So then I called Chris all excited (he is probably getting really sick of my 20 phone calls a day giving him the hourly updates). Well, since the backhoe was dropped off on Wed. evening, of course Thursday morning I jumped out of bed hoping to see it moving dirt, and......nothing.......they were using the backhoe to dig the road and some water lines......I can't even describe the disappointment I had (LOL)! Well, Friday morning I hopped out of bed, and that's when it got exciting!!!!!
Here's the hole. I know, I must be mentally insane to get this excited over a hole and a big pile of dirt! It's so much fun, I think we have drove past it 10 times this weekend.....this exciting hole. Anyways, I can't wait to wake up tomorrow morning and look out the window to see them putting in the footings. Well, this is all exciting and all, but the stress that comes with it is MOVING. We our moving out of our townhome next Saturday, so this weekend was spent doing packing, PAcking, and more PACKING, I am so sick of packing. We are moving into Chris's parents house next weekend until the house is finished in June. I can't wait to get to next Saturday, our house is a disaster, and it doesn't even fill like our house with everything packed away and the walls bare. It's all exciting. Okay, I think this post was probably only exciting for us, sorry to bore everyone with pictures of dirt (LOL)!!!

That is WAY exciting for you guys! I don't think it's geeky at all- I think that pretty much everyone that goes through the process gets excited! Good luck with the move!
I go for a daily walk and sometimes I walk the back way through our neighborhood and today I walked right past your hole and was so excited for you!!!
Oh so if you are a geek I am double geek because I was excited and it isn't even my hole :)
It is exciting! We drove by today to see it! Please feel free to bring the girls over if it would help on moving day!
How exciting! I'm jealous!!!! Good luck with the move and all the packing! :)
Not a boring post in the least! What an exciting, and stressful time for you. I'm sure you'll have plenty of help, but if you need my truck or an extra hand, I'd be happy to stop by!-Valerie
I can totally relate...every little step is so much fun. Keep us posted!
How fun that you can see everything from your house now. Well I guess only for a few more days! June isn't very far away!
Holy cow, who knew dirt could be so exciting! I love that you are so excited about it. Building a new house is something I continue to hope with happen for us some day soon...P.S. of course we will be hitting the pool this summer! Looking forward to it.
That is so fun and exciting! If you keep going by everyday it is going to make the building a very LOOOONG process, but at least it will be fun!
It isn't only exciting to you, who doesn't love the idea of a brand new house going up? Super cool that you can be so close and see all the action everyday!
