Developmental Milestones

To start the week off I accomplished a HUGE developmental milestone. My mother in law took off to Jackpot with her sisters, so she asked me if I would pick her Strawberries. Whatever I picked I got to keep. After I got done picking them, I ended up with 8 cups of fresh srawberries. So, I got really daring and decided to make some homemade Strawberry Jam. I can't even tell you how proud I was to show my husband my first batch of homemade jam. I think I am going to be eating PB&J Sandwiches for the rest of the summer!

The next HUGE developmental milestone we had in our house this week was Isabella finally decided it's time to start walking. I know, you're probably thinking "Isn't she like 17 months, and hasn't she been walking for months?" Yes, this very overly cautious child is 17 months, but she has had absolutely NO desire to take her first steps on her own. This week, it finally interested her, and I can't even tell you how excited Chris and I were to see that she was physically able to walk. I was starting to get a little worried, but YEAHHHH we finally have a walker.

My parents flew in on Wednesday and stayed until Sunday. We had so much fun going to the fireworks, parades and BBQ's with them. Of course it went by too fast and they are already back home. But, Isabella had a blast hanging out with grandma and grandpa. Isabella loved the Logan fireworks, she was completely amazed. I love being a mom and just sitting back and watching her expressions as she experiences new things for the first time. When it came time to do our own fireworks, we wipped out the sparklers, and she was completely bored out of her mind. I had to take a picture, she was so bored!!

And I just happened to capture this priceless picture of her watching her daddy play baseball with his brothers. She loves to just sit and watch her daddy. But, she had just the cutest look on her face while she watched him.

Way to go on your jam. Nothing tastes like homemade jam! Savanna just started walking too. I am loving it. She is much happier and so am I! We're coming up in a few weeks. I'll let you know when I know what days we will be there. We'd love to play for a bit!!

I love homemade jam! But I've never made it myself so I would have been very proud too. And what is it about your little girl that makes me want to just eat her up!

I didn't realize that she wasn't walking yet, but one thing I have learned is that kids always go at their own pace! She is just so beautiful, I wish Sienna's hair would grow like hers does! Good luck chasing her now!

Good job on the jam!
The picture of Isabelle and the sparkler is SO funny! Our kids were like that too.....they (well Kace) kept saying, "so where are the real fireworks!"

At least she just sits there while doing sparklers. Our boys kept trying to light things on fire, and play sword fights with theirs!

You said you wanted to learn how to make Homemade Jam at camp...you did it!

You take awesome pictures by the way.

O my heck, when I saw you guys on Friday I wouldn't have guessed that Isa just started walking. She is getting really good!!! I liked the comment about Ariel, Tailor and I have a hard time getting along sometimes just for that fact (we both are stubborn). Kasey keeps asking us if we EVER get along! because he can always here us bickering. It is Too funny:)

I have always wanted to learn how to make Jam! I always think about the movie 'Spaceballs' when I think of Jam. 'There is only one who would dare give me the Raspberry!!' Holy crap I am a nerd! Good job with that! Cute pics :)

So which mileston should we be more proud of? LOL! One good thing about having a late walker is that now Sunday School and R.S. will only be nearly impossible for 1 month vs. 6-9 months while your waiting for your child to join nursery. Love the festive apron!

It was so great to see you guys, but the time went to fast! I wish we would've had more time to just sit and visit with you and your parents!

Hey, I'd love to try some of that jam. How about you train me on jam making and I train you on the coupon shopping.
Let's get together next week. You pick the day. I'll go this week and get ribbon and the clips and pick out some flowers. Or we could go together.
It was great seeing you guys. Cooper was cute with Isa, I wish he was that nice to his little sister.

Congrats on the jam. I remember how proud I was when I made my first (and only) batch of jam. It even tasted good. Congrats on Isa walking. I am also glad that you survived YW camp it sounded like you had a good time. (We need a girl's night soon!)

Isa is SO sweet!! Maxwell didn't walk until he was 17 months. He knew he was cute and that I would haul him around :)

I'm jealous you've got all this homemade jam! I made some last year but it's all gone and I haven't gotten around to making more. How fun that she's walking Ellie has been walking quite a bit this last week but still doesn't want to give up on crawling yet. I love that last picture-she's gorgeous!

Strawberry is my FAVORITE jam! Chicago is a trip for work but it is ALL paid for by the Company except for of course my little suvoniers:) (I spelt it several differnt ways and they all look wrong:))

I'd never heard that story about Isabella having that much hair and the nurses coming up with different styles! That's so funny... you should repost a pic, I'd love to see one of her the day she was born!

Thank you for your beautiful words. I love to read what each of you experienced and felt and thought. Becoming a mother brings so many different feelings but the more I feel her move, the more I love it.

Everyone keeps saying how childbirth is something so spiritual and amazing that you'll never experience anything quite like it...

I hope I have the same experience... you're the best. Thanks Melissa

I learned how to make jam last summer but I did raspberry because a neighbor let me pick his berries. It is so yummy and we are still partaking of the goodness. I bet you are so relieved Isa is walking. Wyatt doesn't show any interest in rolling over and it seems like every other baby has been rolling forever. I know he will roll when he is good and ready, right? SO I quit HS. It's a big ordeal and let's just say I am glad to be done with the drama.

I love your apron! I just do the freezer kind. I LOVE it. Yeah, I'm glad I'm not the only one with a child above the age of one that does not want to walk:) It's a wonderful and scary time when they get more independent, and more bruised!
