My hubby is going to be all embarrassed that I am bragging about him on this post, but he deserves it! Every year Qwest picks their top 3% employees and treats them to an all inclusive vacation, this award is called Circle of Excellence. Chris won this award this year, so we just returned from a quiet weekend getaway in Tuscon, AZ. Qwest put us up in this beautiful hotel, The Starr Resort, it was soooo tranquil and relaxing, the vacation went toooo fast! Here are some pictures from our little weekend getaway.

Our hotel was hidden in the desert, so beautiful. Need a second honeymoon, I would definitely recommend this one. Chris and I realized that we haven't gone on vacation alone in 4 years, this vacation was over due!!!!

After we arrived Thursday, that evening Qwest spoiled us with a wonderful evening full of amazing food, and this amazing view off the balcony overlooking Tuscon. As the pictures go from day to day, you may notice the size of my cheeks increasing, we ATE way TOO good!

Saturday morning, Qwest had a fun service project for one of the women abuse shelters and we made these little bags full of gifts for the women. It was a fun way to start the morning.
Then we headed off on a Jeep tour, it was a really fun little trip. Here are some cool pictures of the hieroglyphics that we saw on our tour, very cool.

On our way back from our Jeep tour.....border patrol pulled over our group of people, and wouldn't let us go. Apparently the Jeep excursion didn't have "sufficient" paper work to say they could be on the land...next thing we know we are being held there, and then a helicopter starts surrounding us....it was definitely "an adventure." I'm not going to lie, with Chris and I having the last name of Hernandez and no documentation to prove our legalness, I was worried we may end up in the slammer on vacation. The picture below totally cracks me up, here is the picture of a couple of our tour guides approaching the cops, notice the one cowboy has his hand next to his gun and holster....should I have been more worried than I was??
One really cool thing that Qwest does for their COE winners, on top of giving them an all inclusive trip, is spoil them with gifts. Every night we got back from dinner there was a gift waiting for us. The first night they gave us a new camera, we were so excited! The second night we got sun glasses, and the 3rd night we got a DVD of our entertainer for the night. Every year Qwest hires an entertainer for the last night. The last 2 years they hired Sheryl Crow and 3 Dog Night, so we were all trying to figure out what musician it was going to be, but this year they hired a comedian, you may remember him as.....Hans and Franz from SNL....Kevin Nealon, he was a fun comedian!!!

Friday night was the big awards ceremony. Here is Chris with a couple of the VP's of Qwest.

Saturday we soaked up some sun, and it felt ohhhh so nice! Are those white legs blinding or what?? Summer where are you?

Sunday we checked out...I really didn't want to, but they told us we had to. I had to get this picture of Dora. Apparently Dora was staying at the resort as well. Isabella thought this was the coolest picture of our entire trip.

We came home and were excited to see our new house. When we left they had all the framing done and was working on the insulation, when we got back, a good majority of the siding was put on, and they had sheet rocked the entire upstairs, we were soooo giddy. It's really coming along quick!

And, let's be honest! Although our vacation was muchly needed and we enjoyed time alone, we sure missed these little stinks!!!!
